When Lament showed interest in a spar a pleased smirk pulled at the stoic man's lips. "Wonderful. Come, I have a spot by the shore that I like to train in." While Plague tended to be a man of few words and liked to show even fewer emotions, he would easily and readily admit that fighting was where he was most comfortable. There was something about the strategy, the effort, and the physicality in a fight that made him feel the most himself and the most at home in his skin. There was no chance for him to overthink things and it was the one and only time he allowed himself to act quickly and reactively. It was also one of his favorite ways to get to know someone new since it told him all he needed to know about a fellow fighter.

He led the way to an open area on the beach that he had cleared a while back of any pieces of drift wood or noticeable rocks. It offered a fairly decently sized sparring area that was out of the way of the rest of the pack and a soft enough ground that if they happened to fall or shove each other there wouldn't be too much damage done. Plus it offered a bit more difficulty with the ever shifting nature of sand. He was never one to shy away from a challenge. He took his spot with his back to the ocean across from Lament, leaving a good bit of space between them before he began setting his defenses and preparing himself for this opponent. "Why don't you take the first move? A bit of a welcome present if you will," he offered with a soft chuckle, staring down Lament and watching closely for his first move.
