Beneath the winter sun

Lament slammed into him and Hikaru lost his footing as he tried to maneuver to Lament’s other side. He was certain of one thing, melee’s were not for him. Still, the young koi wasn’t quick to give up and he continued through with his original intentions. With one and and ear in Lament’s direction he aimed to close the distance between himself and the towering she wolf. He couldn’t reach anything impressive so he aimed to bite at her elbows as he slid under her belly and to the opposite side of her.

He didn’t expect to be facing Lament when he got to the other side. Hikaru righted himself quickly, as any good shinobi would, but he was too late to recover from his mistakes. Before he knew it Lament had him on the ground, and he just hadn’t been paying enough attention to both opponents. This would be a telling lesson as time went on and he learned more. Melee and free for all were a big weakness.
