Cicero was a little surprised when the girl asked to be taught. One brow raised as she appraised the young lady. "What I teach depends on what you already know. So what do you know, ah...?" The small woman gestured with one obsidian paw. They hadn't exchanged names, so she didn't know what to call the girl. Eh, whatever.

Stacking wood, Cicero took her flint and steel out and struck sparks. The hungry kindling ate up the sparks and a small fire was quickly going. With a thicker stick, the woman prodded the flames, repositioning the wood so that there was an empty space in the middle. Carefully, she placed the pot of water in the center. The water would boil in time. Time that she could use to explain things to the curious child.
