Hazel had just enough time to get immersed in the smoke when a voice broke her concentration. Out of habit her sightless eyes opened and she turned in the stranger's direction. There wasn't much to glean from the stranger thus far; she hadn't even heard the approach. A young woman, most likely, but aside from that Hazel was in the dark. Not that she was worried or anything of the sort. No, she'd been sending prayers out into the darkness for awhile now and she had no idea what form an answer might take. She would approach anything new with an open mind.

"Hello," she echoed back in a soft voice. "It's a good time for a fire, no?" Though she hadn't made the fire for warmth it certainly dulled the chill that had been creeping into her fur. "Join me, if you like, but if you aren't looking for answers I'd stay upwind of the smoke if I were you." The herbs that were now curling in the intense heat were letting off a pungent aroma. That was what Hazel had been concentrating on. When breathed in, the herbs opened the mind and made understanding easier. When you knew what to expect it was usually pleasant. If it caught you unawares the experience could be unsettling. While it didn't matter to her what the stranger decided to do, she saw no reason to expose her to the smoke without at least a warning.
