Excitement raced through her veins as she waited for life to return to a semblance of normalcy. However long she waited wouldn’t change anything, her life was going to be drastically different very soon. Poem could hardly believe that she was pregnant, that nestled within were tiny puppies growing and developing. The thought always brought a thrill, a flutter of her heart or a shiver down her spine. She was going to be a mother.
There wasn’t anywhere else she wanted to raise her brood, nor with anyone else. She wasn’t sure that she’d ever seen so much joy on a wolf’s features than when she told her husband what they’d done. Poem hadn’t expected to settle so quickly, but she wouldn’t have changed anything. Still early, today was the day to tell Rhyme. The rest of the family would know quickly afterwards. Poem bumped her shoulder against Theory as they approached Rhyme and Samara’s den. Her little brothers and sisters would be finding their own dens soon, hopefully in time for babysitting duty.
She chuckled inwardly at the thought, Theory was right. She could be afraid and nervous all she wanted but with so much family surrounding them Poem had nothing to fear. Her father, Samara, Rhythm… there were endless paws to help raise her tiny babies. For now, they were here to share the news. ”Tato?” She called out as they stopped outside.
