Wonderous paws
Kali had much the same line of thinking that her dear sister did; getting the heck out of this stuffy old den. So far it had been all they’d ever known, other than the full bellies and warmth provided by their mother and the fussing given by Lilith. There was more than just this little enclosed space, she could smell it. Something musty and damp and intriguing beyond that light at the end that their mother always left and came back through. Therefore, when her pale sibling asked who wanted to go, she gave her a side glance that was clear to anyone about it’s meaning. Did she even have to ask. She was up on her gold-spun legs in an instant, her still chubby legs carrying her outside close at the heels of her littermate, consequences be damned. They couldn’t keep them cooped up forever anyways, even her young mind knew that!
The pair bounded through the entrance and to the foreign world clad in white. Even under the night sky the moon illuminated it so brilliantly that she had to squint, her masked maw wrinkling in distaste at the cold beneath her paws. But, her pale sister was continuing forward, her light pelt nearly blending into their surroundings, and Kali, not one to be outdone, followed swiftly after her. “You’re going to get dirty and then mom’s going to be mad,” she chided her sibling, casting her bi-colored gaze over her shoulder before, with a wicked grin, she began digging, spraying snow and clods of semi-frozen dirt toward the other.
