Yellow eyes flickered open and closed a few times, trying to adjust to the bright light of day. Had she slept that long? The monochrome lady let out a sigh and noticed her breath left a fog all around her muzzle. Even with the sun rising ever so slowly, it was still so unbearably cold. She lifted herself off the knotted branches she found as her sleeping place and stretched her pale legs. She sniffed the frigid air and couldn't pick up Powder - the little skunk must be off exploring. She arrived in an exhausted haze and didn't properly take note of her surroundings the night before. Sleepily she noted the area was packed with ancient willows with roots so coiled and tangled you could live in them. The nomadic girl wondered if that would make a good stopping place for now. It was winter, it was horribly chilly, and she was hungry and exhausted. |
