Wonderous paws
Kali hadn’t ever thought about the difference in appearance between herself, her siblings and her mother. While they were all cloaked in some form of white, grey or black, she was a rich chocolate brown. Her markings were only just starting to come in through her puppy fur, lightening like golden ribbons entangled around her body and along her face like a masquerading mask. Their eyes were beginning to change from their puppy blues to their true colors, though it seemed only herself and Wendigo would have anything other than a cool blue. If anything, it made her feel even more special.
When her sister asked if she thought that their siblings would join them she shrugged her shoulders, “I dunno, I hope not. The boys are gross,” she said, her nose scrunching. They were constantly trying to wrestle and made gross jokes, and while Kali didn’t mind putting them in their place every so often it was all the time. Really, didn’t they have anything better to do?
Speaking of wrestling, as she glanced behind her she found her sister tottering after her, throwing her limbs over her shoulders with a shriek. The girl let out her own shriek of laughter, a playful growl bubbling up her throat as she bucked in an attempt to throw her sister off. If she succeeded, she’d turn around and perform a tackle of her own. “No, I gotchu!”
