He knew he wouldn’t be fighting in the raid she planned. He was old, and his place would be guarding the healers, or tucked away guarding the pups . He accepted the step down from battle. He knew he’d have it too hard and risk contributing to a loss.

He came upon Ardyn on the way, and the two made their way to the meeting together. When they reached the dirt clearing in the tall grass, Ardyn parted ways and headed to the boulder to take a seat nearby, and Regulus took a spot near the newest fellow, casting both him and Domari a grin, adding another to Cairo and his daughter.

He was relaxed, unconcerned, and he waited to hear her speak.
