She was on her own today, which was all good and well because she was kind of tired of her dad's corny jokes. The pair had been together since returning to Boreas over a year ago, but life had been pretty uneventful. She spent a lot of time with her dad, learning about the Ancora lineage, but by the time they had decided to go back to the pack that her dad had been in previously, it was too late. Her grandmother had died several days before they got there, and she hadn't gotten the chance to meet her. Her father of course, was devastated. From her understanding, Avalon had been the oldest wolf to live and she had been through a lot in her life. She had been eager to meet the matriarch of the family, but...it seemed she wouldn't get that chance.

And it seemed whatever she did just wasn't enough to pull him from his grief, so she decided to leave him be for a time and went off on her own. It was...strange being by herself. Most of the time she followed after her dad because she had been wary about being on her own, but now that she was doing it, it didn't seem so bad.
She reached the river and she felt like she was looking at it for the first time, though she was sure she'd been here before. Maybe it was because she was here by herself and not with her dad and his two jaguars. She stood on the river bank, realizing for the first time just how big and vast this river was...
