Áskell watched the younger boy thinking, keeping silent as he wondered what was going through the other boy's head. When the boy spoke Áskell's ears flicked up at rapt attention and he grinned. "Oh, yes! That is a great idea. My dad said the lava is so hot that if you feel in you'd catch fire before actually hitting the lava." He didn't know if that was true or not but he'd always wanted to try throwing something alive in there and seeing what would happen. A dead bird was probably a better idea, though some day he wanted to throw in a frog or a toad. Kári said they'd explode. "Let's go all the way to the top. There's a bunch of lava in the crater.
