Rocks, En called them, and given that he was farther ahead the younger wolf would clearly have a better idea than she. Kanna pressed onward, toward the dark figures and the flashes of red that marked the boy as separate from the shadows and stones. She found herself bitterly mulling over the possible length of this storm; how long would they need to hunker down like rabbits for?
Kanna wanted to be free of her contract as swiftly as possible, and they had already been at this for months. Voice and silhouette, both ill-defined but together enough for the woman to piece together that they had company, drew Kanna's eyes and ears together toward the presumed native. This could be exactly what they needed, or the first blood drawn on this new continent. Kanna felt confident she and En were properly prepared for both. Unable to tell what language the stranger was calling out in, the shinobi replied in her own tongue: "(There's shelter here)," she spoke loudly in hopes her voice would carry. Once they were all out of the wind they could talk, and Kanna and En could recoup. (Dialogue is in Japanese) |
