He was bursting with the look of someone with news to share. He found Haiku easily enough, digging about in the snow, until more than just his natural patches were white splatters against his coat. The boy snickered softly, and pawed at an extra white mark on his brother's nose. “Happy birthday Haiku!” he said with excitement. And boy, did their birthday mean so much. It meant they were more accepted as young adults, and could do more for themselves.
“I’m looking for you, silly. What are we going to do now? We can leave the pack we can explore! Don’t you want to see mountains, and hunt through deserts?”
