Seeing Gossamer dropping her head Naiche aimed to both defend and attack in the same action. He dropped his own head to block an attack at his own neck while attempting to give a light bite and tug to her leg. Was she an adult it would have both bit harder and tugged far harder but he could give her that extra season before the game got rougher. This really made it a game of speed between them. Could Gossy get her snap at his neck in before he could lower his own to get the leg? Naiche used speed over strength in most his fights, especially since he normally fought those who were stronger and larger than him. He was confident in his speed but in fights there were always potential surprises. Naiche imagined either way he was being gentler to this pup than their reaper would have been.
