Chi noted that Viper was eyeing his work so he worked slowly on his first snare, tying the rope up into the tree and bending the branch before placing the stake. The loop at the bottom, once triggered, would snap upwards and tighten around the legs of their prey, jerking them off of their feet and into the air. Once satisfied that Viper had gotten the basics, Chi moved faster.

Snare after snare was placed until he ran out of little ropes. Eight in all, though he believed he'd given Viper less rope due to her size. Carefully, so as not to trigger the snares, Chi placed leaves and dusted snow over the loops to hide them from view. If they ran a herd through there, he didn't think they would notice, but he didn't want to chance it.
