She could practically feel the anxiety rolling off of Asuka and she wished she knew what to say to comfort the woman, but her friend's mental state seemed to be bad enough that words alone were unlikely to do much for her. She would be better once they found a safe place where she could begin to feel more comfortable and secure. Then the real work would begin, and Akari wouldn’t let up until the feisty woman she had once known was back.
Luckily it didn’t take long for her call to be answered, and even luckier, the alpha seemed to be the more gentle sort. That would be good for Asuka. Akari returned the woman’s smile, dipping her head in greeting. "Hello, I’m Akari, and this is Asuka. We’re looking for a pack, and were wondering if you might be willing to tell us a bit about yours."
