Tell me it's real

Today was the day. She'd known it since she'd first awoken, not long after dawn. The pain was indistinguishable from anything she'd ever felt before except the first time she'd given birth, and with the growing discomfort came a sharp rise in her anxiety levels. Already she'd vowed to do anything to protect these children, even making Song promise out loud he'd do the same. She'd never let harm come to them. Perhaps Song's children was unwise - he was much larger than her physically and there was a chance she'd birth children just as large, something that could be quite dangerous to her - but she knew it was impossible to tell how things would go until the day arrived.
And she had no doubt it was here. Kirsi stirred slowly from within her den, searching for Song. She had little time to fully rouse from her midday nap before she felt the contractions begin. Instantly she lifted her head skyward and let out a call for Song. Though she wanted to do this alone, with only him to guide her, she knew that might not be the case - but she was willing to wait and see if she truly needed a healer to assist her or not.
