The boy was strong, Hattori would give him that. He raised a shoulder to meet the Shogun's advance but did not simply leave it at that. Wielding his sabres he was quick to make a grab for the Shogun's scruff, had he gotten a hold he would have had the outright advantage, able to steer him to his benefit. But like the crack of a whip Hattori snapped his neck out of reach, eyes gleaming and focused as they narrowed in on the blur of purple as he raised a paw to slash at him. It made sense to use what tools he had at his disposal but in raising a paw off the ground he gave Hattori the opening he needed to force the boy off balance.

Gritting his teeth he doubled down, taking the brunt of his swipe against his strengthened shoulder as he kicked in deep and forced forward with all his might.
