Apollinaris Galanis Molon Labe He heard the sounds of crunching snow, and eagerly hoped it would be a large prey animal of some sort. Turning to face the source right as the woman spoke, his lips turned into a flat smile, her favorite nickname for him grating against every nerve in his body. He chuckled at her question, tossing his head to clear it of the natural irritation that seemed to build in the woman's presence. "Dear Halcyone, when am I not?" He arched a brow in his own teasing manner, rolling his shoulders to loosen his stance. If childhood at taught him anything, it's that the pair always found something to do. "Glad to see you could finally make it up here. Lovely, isn't it?" He swiped at the ground with a white forepaw, sending snow spraying into the air. "Is this place a never-ending winter? What could possibly be worth taking in such dreadful conditions." As if nature had heard his complaining, a stiff cold breeze pushed past the pair, causing the man's fur to bristle. He gave himself a rough shake, willing his fur to stand down and smooth out. He shot a glance at the redwood trunks surrounding them, huffing another puff of steam before icy eyes returned to his companion. "What's on your itinerary today? Did you truly come all this way just to bother me, or do you want to be useful?" His tones returned to those of teasing, knowing the woman had much thicker skin than his usual targets of harassment. |
