Knock Out!

They had decided to linger around the cattail creek. It had a decent supply of fresh water, small prey, and a number of healing hers. Today was a lesson on valerian. Autumn was the perfect time to harvest the roots and it had a number of uses, both honest and dangerous. The fire was going, giving off its delicious warmth. "Rise and shine twerp, bring the bowls. The fire's going and I'm not waiting on you." She moved over to one of the valerian plants and began to dig, eager to unearth the root that they could use for this lesson. "Valerian root is very useful. It can be used as a sleep aid and sedative. With a high enough dose it can make a patient less aware of pain. Useful if surgery is needed." Not that she ever messed much with surgical operations. If they were that bad off it was best to just let them go in her opinion.
