in my wildest dreams

Seeing how badly Indigo had been hurt and how close they had been to losing him so soon after meeting him really shook Segin to his core. Just as he was getting familiar with his new makeshift family, getting comfortable in the castle, and learning his way around this happened and it made him remember how fragile this new life he had been given really was. He didn’t think that he’d just be kicked back out into the world alone if Indigo had met his demise out there saving Emersyn, but he also didn’t know that for sure.
He had stuck close to Indigo in the days following the day he was injured as if he just had to reassure himself constantly that the giant violet man was actually okay. He helped as much as he could, mostly just fetching things that Indigo needed and keeping him company, but seeing Io work made him realize just how lacking his meger skills as a healer really were so he also spent a good bit of time trying to learn and study more herbs and their uses. It gave him something to do to keep his mind busy while his body continued to heal and rebuild from his misuse and mistreatment of it.
He was still thin, but his ribs weren’t as visible as they had once been and he no longer felt like he might collapse under the smallest weight. Most of his smaller cuts and bruises were pretty much completely gone and his paws had mostly healed. His coat was slowly getting back a bit of luster as he continued to be better about keeping it clean and he continued to properly eat. Out of all the things that Indigo had to worry about, he didn’t want to be one of them.
Segin’s ears perked when he heard a shuffle and sound of movement from the room behind him, making him lift his head and look toward where he knew Indigo was resting. He had been very, very tempted to go back into the room where they slept to lay with him, but he had forced himself to return to his studies, tirelessly trying to make himself skilled enough to justify his place in their group.
At the sound though, he got up and walked back into the room, finding Indio struggling to move and stand with this pained expression on his face. Worry immediately flared in Segin’s gut and he rushed to Indigo’s side, trying to help support him even though he was so much smaller than the giant man. “Careful, careful…” He said softly with a whine, his ears falling back against his head. He looked to the pack that it seemed Indigo had been trying to put on, piecing some things together for himself. “Hold on, rest for a second. Do you want to go gather herbs? I can carry the pack for you!” he offered, looking back up at Indigo’s handsome blue eyes.
