Mojito vs Tyto [Tournament]

Frankly, it was a little weird being back here. The shrine was familiar to him, a place he'd once accepted as part of his home but he also felt totally out of place here now. There was now a creeping sense of eyes on him, and yet Naiche had encouraged him to attend and some part of the young man was feeling defiant, the empire might have been where he was born but it was the Armada that had actually allowed him to flourish. He was particularly proud of what he'd managed to earn, the pack's head healer, when his own cousins had basically done nothing but try to hold him down.

But that didn't mean he was comfortable here, no he knew that his cousins probably would have preferred he wasn't here, that he simply never re-entered their life. They probably wished he had slunk off with his tail between his legs to wherever his mother and siblings had instead of flourishing and proving them wrong about his own potential. And maybe that was why he was here, sure Naiche had encouraged him to enter but he also couldn't help but feel like he wanted to prove to everyone at the festival that his cousins, the empress herself had been wrong about him.

Mojito had no delusions about winning the whole thing but he hoped at least to hold his own enough to prove he could handle himself. And that was the mindset the young man had as he readied to square off against his first opponent. Clear blues narrowed as he sized up the other man. He was significantly bigger than Mojito, which wasn't surprising, Mojito was used to being shorter among many wolves but it did mean he would have to be... careful.
