Shae vs Poetry [Tournament]

Shae's voice caused him to instantly let go, his paws trying to find earth to stand on instead of sister. He took a step or two to give her room, both excited and sad. He was absolutely thrilled he had won, but sad that Shae was now out of the tournament. He knew full well he won by luck alone, and his ears slicked back humbly. "This time," he emphasized with his own giggle, his tail wagging gently behind him. When she reached in to kiss his cheek, he hugged her around her neck, pulling her close. "I'll... I will," he corrected himself before letting her go, a mix of emotions swirling about in his head. He was extremely proud of himself, even if he did win by pure chance. Sadness pulled his excitement down, unhappy that Shae could not advance too. Just a drop a fear rippled through the boy as he turned to face the spectators, looking for the faces of his family.
"You'll cheer for me next time, right?" His words were quiet, meant only for Shae; he didn't want his parents knowing how nervous he truly was. He glanced her way as he stood tall, the corners of his maw curling in a subdued smile.
