Realization finally dawned on Chimera as Viper admitted that he'd left her to be with Dalila. She was jealous. Still, his nose wrinkled and he took a step towards the small woman. "I left you because I wanted to hurt something. I wanted to be rough." He had liked dominating Viper, but he had thoroughly enjoyed destroying Dalila. The slave had done exactly what he wanted. She'd given him the cruel release that he needed at the time. He hadn't damaged her irreparably, but he'd hurt her well enough. He hadn't wanted to damage Viper. That was what the slave girl was for. He was just utilizing her.

Viper spoke again. It was more words that Chimera had ever heard come out of her. Dalila was his woman too. A huff left the man and he sneered. "Dalila is a slave. I purchased her just like I purchased that dog I bought you. She is a servant. She does what she's told and she takes what she's given." The brute growled low. "She belongs to me but she is not my woman. There's a difference." Could she even understand that in all of her anger?
