Avantika vs Gossamer (Tournament)

As Avantika attempted her attack, she found her paws missing their target, as she had ducked. Her teeth nicked the skin of Gossamer's neck, tasting blood, but didn't manage to attain any sort of hold. Not a complete failure, but pretty close. And even more disappointing when her opponent's head rammed just beneath her sternum, forcing the wind out of her lungs and pushing her off balance. Gasping from the need to breathe, Avantika moved back and struck her paws to the ground, one hitting at an awkward angle. Ugh. That was going to hurt. The ankle wasn't seriously injured, just rolled, but even that would be painful in a fight where she couldn't slow down for a second. She was standing at a wider stance than before now.

Avantika would attempt to bite Gossamer's muzzle and slam it to the ground, keeping her own position wide and stable.
