A Mammoth Task [THE HUNT]

Brandr picked up speed, using his proximity to help pressure their target toward the cliff. He didn't know where the other beasts were. Some ran along beside and others likely had split off in hopes of avoiding the predators. Brandr suddenly put on the breaks as the cliff neared. The mammoth could not stop in time. The cliff appeared so suddenly and as a new arrival it had no idea the cliff was there. The beast tumbled over with a huge crash, plummeting down to the base. Brandr quickly shifted course, scrambling along the side of the cliff as he looked for a way down. As soon as he landed he joined in with the wolves below in hopes of aiding them. Already he could tell a number of the mammoth's legs were broken and its lack of hind leg movement suggested paralysis somewhere in the spine. They were in the final stretch now.
