Sorine woke, feeling groggy and confused. The last thing she remembered was water washing over her head. Now her pelt was heavy and soaked with salty ocean water, her right side caked with sand. She lifted her head slowly, bleary eyed as she blinked at her new surroundings. Despite the wetness of her pelt her mouth was dry from the heat of summer and the salt and sand that had coated her tongue.
This place was new to her, and she wasn’t entirely sure how she had gotten here. Somehow she’d been washed ashore here. Alone and with no clear way back to where she came from, at least from where she stood. Not that there was much for her to return to now, anyways. The former princess had lost her home, and lost her faith in everything she had been raised to believe. Perhaps a new start away from it all was exactly what she needed.
