my boy was just like me

The Warlord swiftly argued that he was not kind, and Indigo wondered where the quality had come from within him. Perhaps that was what he had taken from Zee, a deep kindness that didn’t discriminate. Indigo found his path in helping those that were closest to him, the lost souls that congregated around him. He would always love his family, they would forever be special to him, but he had created his own little family. The wolves of his band had become an essential part of his life, Indigo needed them as much or more than they needed him.
”Thank you again, either way.” Indigo didn’t argue, just offered another dip of his head. ”Ulric sent us off with a good store of food to start.” He added, mostly thinking out loud. The world was their oyster, herbs were plentiful, Duchess was an incredible hunter, what he had to think about most was what they needed that they couldn’t make for themselves on the long road. ”Bags, leathers, furs… Supplies that we might not so easily find while we travel.” Indigo thought for a moment. ”Have you started to keep livestock? Do you have any goats?” If his father could help add to his herd… Indy didn’t have a whole lot of hope they would find more of the small ungulates here.
Sirius wanted to know about his nomad band, and Indigo tried to decide how he wanted to describe their little group to his father. He thought for a moment how different he was to Seer, but also how similar. ”I think it started not long after I left for the Hallows. I met a girl named Rue and we became fast friends. The idea didn’t really form until after the attack. She was killed.” Indigo averted his gaze ashamedly. Resin hadn’t wanted him to bear the weight of her demise but Indigo still blamed himself for her death. ”I vowed to be better, I wanted to do something. I started to go on scouting missions, I didn’t know what I would do but it seemed like whenever I went out into the world I would find another lost soul. Beaten, broken, or just… lost. They found me and I knew that I needed to lead them.”
He realized he was getting long winded, but he hadn’t really talked to his father in so long. He wanted to give him as much as the full story as was appropriate. He’d keep how intimate he was with them to himself. The Nomad band is a group of lost wolves who found a home in each other. We're going to be traders and travel the world to find rare and useful herbs. Maybe one day I’d like to offer our skills in healing as well.” He quieted then, ears perking as he waited for more questions from his father.
