The feeling of walking beside her again was completely indescribable. Whenever they were apart Indigo longed to be beside Aslatiel again and no matter how much time past the instant relief when he saw her was real. They were forbidden to be together, but there wasn’t anything he wanted more in the entire world than to have her here beside him like this. There was only one thing he would change, and that was the curve of her frown. Indigo was quiet and subdued as they walked, but he still held onto the smile she cause on his features. However much her sorrow pained him. She needed to see that he could smile for the both of them. There were more than a couple moments that Indigo had debated about scooping her up onto his back to carry her the rest of the way, but he wouldn’t take her independence. He wanted to wrap her in his arms and hide her away from the world and its sorrows, but he knew that was just as infeasible as physically fighting the grief. All he could do was what they were doing now, walking together towards camp, he was going to take her away from it all if only for a little while. He didn’t suppress his urge to give her little kisses throughout the journey, he was careful while they were close to the Armada but his affections were much more flagrant the closer they came to the camp. Indigo wished desperately they could spend the rest of their lives drowning in each other’s affection, but the hard truth was their reality. He made his band and she had created her own family, and even though they were so close together right now they had never been further apart. Indigo tried to grin through the painful shock to his broken heart as the thought shook him. Indigo led Aslatiel towards the camp, right where the Hallows had once resided. They were far enough away from the Armada to have their privacy but close enough trading, visiting, and traveling between the two was easy if not completely convenient. He brought her to the Nomad camp. Goats milled about eating vegetation, but remained close to the camp. Packs and bed rolls were arranged around a small hearth in a peaceful clearing by the falls. Indigo looked toward Aslatiel with sapphire eyes as he presented her the camp, and gave her a moment to acclimate before calling everyone together to meet her. He leaned against her shoulder and watched her pretty features for a moment. "Welcome home," he offered quietly. He smiled softly, bringing his blue gaze to her precious purple once more. Nothing felt more right than those words and having her here with him now. She was meant to be at his side and this tiny taste was everything he wanted. "Speech" |
