He was curious what she thought of her sibling having a different father to her, but then perhaps that was all she had known. It would be a strange surprise for her later in life to realise her litter was not typical.

He was distracted from that thought by another. Asla, sad? She had seemed fine the times he had seen her. Sad a lot? he tipped his ears back, unhappy to hear it. “Does she say why, little one?” he asked, thoughts of training fleeing his mind.
