The more her herb supply dwindled the more she suffered. She couldn't even manage to go out to hunt for more because the moment she did she began to cough again. Some days were worse than others, but as they sank further into autumn and the cold days were more frequent than not her returning symptoms were more and more frequent. At this rate she feared the illness that kept her bed ridden for most of her childhood would return in full force and at this point she felt like she was just staving off the inevitable. She kept thinking about Aslatiel, Ocean's friend that had offered to take them away form here, and while she didn't want to feel like a burden on her and her brother she also had a grim feeling that she wouldn't make it through a winter here.
The howl at the border made her lift her head from the furs she as laying on, a little hope stirring in her chest. She got to her paws and slipped her satchel around her. It was already packed with what little herbs and supplies she had, though there was hardly enough left to even bother carrying with her. She drank the last of her valerian root tea she had prepared the night before so that she could sleep before she left the ship. Even though she wanted to run to the border to meet up with Aslatiel and Ocean, she forced herself to go slow just to keep away the worst of her coughing. She arrived soon enough though, giving them both a tired smile. "Thank you," she said to Aslatiel, her soft voice holding a rough rasp. She went and settled beside Ocean, leaning into his side with a soft sigh. She just hoped Ignis wouldn't put up too much of a fuss over them. She didn't want to cause any trouble for Aslatiel after she had shown her so much kindness.
