Cooking with dad

Ulric walked through the main castle doors with a soft sigh, rolling his shoulders after a long patrol. He knew he wasn't an old man by any means, but he wondered how much longer he would be able to keep up the frequent patrols and scouting that he had been doing for so long now. If anything he was just eager to have Artorias back from his time training in the Armada so his Baron could take his portion of the patrols again. He and Ezra had been splitting Artorias' portion for the most part so having him back would be a great help. The end of the fall season certainly couldn't come soon enough.

He lingered in the main foyer for a moment, debating with himself over what he wanted to do. His first inclination was to just go up to his and Eska's room to relax for a while, but he was starting to get a bit hungry and he knew he'd rather just eat now instead of having to come back down again later to get some food. Taking a left into the west wing of the castle, he passed through the feast hall and into the kitchen on the other side. When he walked in he spotted Jane and grinned, giving a few gentle wags of his tail "Jane! This is a pleasant surprise," he said as he walked over to her, dipping his head to give her cheek an affectionate kiss. "What are you up to, sweet heart? Anything I can help with?"
