After a moment he heard the rustle of movement in the den, and then she was near the entrance, her eyes scrutinising him. He offered her a smile, a little shy, but genuine. He was determined not to ruin this with a flood of overzealous emotions. He could hold himself at bay, and present the face Hana needed. If indeed she needed anything from him any more.
He folded his wings in tightly against his sides, and gave her a nod “This way” he directed her, before moving off in the direction of the pack's central dens. He had last seen the tanuki near the firepit, digging into a large piece of seabass that the Winged Heir had caught. He didn’t imagine the companion would go far while there was tasty fish to munch on.
