There was so much excitement to be had in your first birthday, but Tyrfing's most looked forward to milestone was the day he could step from the Fireside borders 'legally'. At least, he assumed he'd be allowed to leave and adventure now that he was a yearling, but he'd intentionally avoided asking the question just in case his parents had reason to keep him locked behind the fences just a little longer. Already he'd had a few battles, mostly with his siblings and the cows Fireside raised, but today he was ready for a real match. Something unpredictable and adult-like. He was ready to prove to himself, his family, and his Gods that he was a perfect viking specimen and a source of pride for those who would watch him grow.

He tipped his head back and howled, calling any to him who would 'dare' to accept his challenge. Through the tone of his voice one could likely assume his age, and through the way it wavered near the end and cut off suddenly, one might rightfully assume that this particular yearling was not exceptionally experienced or skilled. Tyrfing only hoped whomever answered his call wasn't some ridiculously powerful warrior with a hundred fights beneath his belt, and that he could stand a chance in the upcoming fight.
