put the lime in the coconut

Some days it was easy for Ophie to pretend she liked doing all the typical Fatalis things, to scrape up a sense of determination and head over to the training grounds. The sand was damp beneath her paws, caking a new layer of muck upon her fur as she moved a brisk pace, a bit of a warm-up before the hard work really got started. She knew she needed to take it slow and steady, that her body just wasn't capable of being pushed to the same extent her siblings were capable of, but it was hard, you know? There was so much she was supposed to be able to do, the Fatalis name was on the line, but she had a sinking feeling that even if she was all skinny and slim she still wouldn't be good enough. Never would be.
Standing opposite to one of the training dummies, Ophie sucked in a readying breath then dipped her head down as she kicked off into a charge. If nothing she'd be able to use all of her extra weight as a battering ram, maybe? Her cat claws dug into the sand, sending it flying in all directions as she pushed with all her might, rushing as fast as her limbs would allow. She collided into the dummy, hard, enough to make her vision spin as she stumbled back. All right, never mind. This was not a technique she'd like to try again, thanks!
Her breathing shaky, Ophie glanced around with ears laid flat. Hopefully no one had seen that sorry display, least of all someone who shared her lukewarm warriors blood.
