Hanako should have known better, that poking the bear would only end one way, but she still found herself revelling in the uncertainty of it all. Would he take the bait or withdraw as he always did? Her heart raced so loud she heard the thunder of it in her ears, adrenaline peaked in her arteries and despite the trembling of her limbs she felt no desire to flee. Only to stay right where he wanted, to do whatever he pleased even if it hurt.

Azure yanked her forward and despite the tears pricking at the corners of her eyes she moved with the motion, pliant and easy, letting out a whimper that was the right kind. She stumbled a little as she was forced to support her own weight, heat pooling so deep within her she felt like she was endless. Empty in the worst of ways. Sometimes-pretty much always- she needed to be told twice, but not now.
