Bast stepped forward and gave a pointed look to the bone-spur heir as she put herself into position for Mortis to grab some of the things he had stashed with her earlier. Mortis, oblivious to the look, managed to get a small fire going with a soft sound of relief. He could already feel the warmth of it.

Still, he took a step back to ensure Azure had room by the fire as well, leaning against Bast who had flopped down behind him. “Yeah, well, you know dad. Doesn't like signs of weakness, and i’ve shown so many of them. I haven’t fucked up once since you left, but he only remembers the mistakes.
