He was giving Mortis a little space after their last long talk. There was a lot he wished he had said, but in the moment his brain didn’t process everything that happened until later. Mortis suggested he leave the Armada. That fact continued to run through his mind as he tried to figure out the why of it. Mort had said he wanted Hikaru to be happy, to live his life of comfort and peace instead of sticking it out in the rough around the edges war camp. This was where Hikaru wanted to be though, he knew from the moment Mortis rescued him from the storm and brought him home that this was where he belonged. He knew Mortis was just looking out for him, but it hurt he didn’t know who he was by now.
He tried not to dwell. Mortis only wanted his happiness even if it came off as… weird. The young koi shook himself of the thought as his pale paws carried him towards the training grounds. He’d have to double his efforts and show Mort he was far from the pretty prince he thought he was.
Silver eyes lifted to the training dummies just in to to watch his old apprentice square up and charge. He thought she was doing really well, her form looked good, her focus was on point. Then she clobbered the thing head first. Hikaru visibly flinched as she crashed to the ground and only barely picked herself back up. Hika felt nothing but sorry for her as he found his way closer.
"Hey, Ophie.” He offered timidly, knowing she didn’t want to see anyone after that performance. "Doo you want to try with a partner? That move looked promising, maybe just a couple points to work on.” He offered with an encouraging grin.
