Call of the Wild

Úlfr quenched his thirst, ears suddenly flicking back at the sound of someone approaching. Smaller than a bear but all the same his head jerked up as he turned to see another boy who greeted him. Úlfr was struck suddenly by the boy's beautiful eyes and the unique markings on his pelt. He was terribly handsome and for a moment Úlfr was struck dumb, unable to respond. He never got the chance for the other boy's bird suddenly shrieked a warning about a bear.

Hackles raised as Úlfr whipped around to face off against the bear, moving forward to pull alongside the other male. A moment later a large grizzly bear emerged from the forest. It moved in a steady lumbering pace at first but stopped in front of the young wolves, its nostrils flaring for a moment before it reared back on its hind legs and roared.
