The old Ashen way and the new Ashen way were two entirely different directions. Many had noticed, but Chimera didn't care. It didn't matter to him how different things were, because it didn't matter to him how things were at all. Ashen was an afterthought. He did what needed to be done to secure a home for Siren, but he'd been thinking as of late. Did he really need to live beneath the rule of another to give his sweet sister a home? No. No he didn't. Siren loved her island, but he could give her another island. An island more grand than the tiny speck of land that they now called home. And so he decided to leave. He and Venom had discussed his plans and both were in agreement that he would soon strike out, taking a number of Ashen wolves with him.
Today Chimera lay on the beach of Ashen proper. He couldn't stand being around the nagging women right now. With Viper pregnant and snappy, he just needed some time to himself. Some time to think and to begin scratching out a plan. It would be best to move as soon as possible. He didn't plan on taking the women anywhere terribly cold, so winter wouldn't be much of a problem unless they had a winter like the last.
The giant man sprawled out in the sun warmed sand, though the sun was beginning to sink below the horizon. Darkness would claim the world soon but the sky was clear. Perhaps he would soon be illuminated by the silver, glimmering moon.
