She knew she was far less capable of fending for her life physically. And if this was before all the recent events, she probably would have been shaking beneath the brute.

She didn't say anything in response to his harsher words, just kept on digging until she thought they were finished. Just when she went to turn around, he scooped her up without notice and put her up on the surface. She wobbled a little as she regained her balance from the surprise, but again didn't seem to be really fearful of the brute. She started to level out some of the dirt that had been pushed out of the pit to make it less obvious. He asked if she would be able to handle the run which she knew she wouldn't be able to fully and she wasn't going to stick up and lie about it. "I can set up along the way here and help you turn and drive to the pit."
