Atom bombs come raining down

Takeshi didn’t have to wait long for a rival to show up. It came in the form of a female perhaps a season older than him, the scent of a pack wafting through the air from her that he had yet to come across. She was tall and lithe with a slim figure and intricate, curling golden markings that seemed to furl and unfurl across her body as she ran, as if they were alive. Curled around her neck he could make out a black figure of some sort, but as she grew closer he could clearly see that it was a snake. If he’d been able to talk, he might have triple checked that she knew that there was a creepy, scaly creature perched there, but the way it followed her command so smoothly he knew that they’d been together for some time. At her heels ran a seemingly impossibly large lizard, its forked tongue flickering out and reminding him of his mother in a way, but that was where the resemblances ended.

With a growling bark, the girl was upon him. She didn’t stop for formalities, but instead burst right into it and he felt his heart beat quicken. Benjiro, his Akita, quickly jumped into action to fend off the nile lizard while Amaya, his Serow, stamped at the ground in an attempt to seemingly crush the snake beneath her hooves. But, he couldn’t focus on them. He had every bit of faith in the pair to do what needed to be done. Instead, he needed to focus on what was in front of him.

Smartly, the golden girl went for one of the few places on his body that were vulnerable: his ankles. He growled, pivoting away as best he could to avoid her attack while simultaneously dipping his head in an attempt to head butt her and knock her off balance. The damned horns had given him enough trouble, they might as well come in handy.
