Hattori knew the northern pack's scent when he smelled it, faint enough to just be one individual and not a raiding party out for retaliation. Besides, what would there be to retaliate? If they had fought back and lost their anger would be warranted, but they'd made no attempt to even try and defy the invaders. In the Shogun's mind they had no right to feel any way about it and suspected they'd probably continue to just pretend it never happened in the first place. Or as much as they could anyway, their stoles had been well and truly pillaged.
Lingering in the shadows of a tall and ancient willow tree, Hattori spotted the white wolf as she meandered through the woods. No doubt hoping to resupply their medicinal reserves and she'd chosen a good place for it too, there were plenty of herbs about if you knew where to look. Or so Hattori had been told.
He wondered whether it was worth approaching her, if she'd scamper at the sight of him.
"I did not think your kind would venture this far south." He said as he stepped out into the open, his voice low and apathetic.
