Tyrian could tell he'd hit a sore spot, which wasn't what he'd intended. He'd wanted to make her a little uncomfortable, have a small chuckle at her expense as she wrestled with talking to someone who was connected with her jilted lover. Tyrian hadn't expected her to be hurt about it. Why would he? He chalked it up to them just working differently. If he'd gone off with someone else and the jilted one responded by throwing a big fit, he'd think he'd dodged a crazy bullet and probably been alright with it. Or, maybe there was more to the story and he needed to stop making assumptions. Still wanting to salvage the conversation, Tyrian responded on the only way he knew how: with humor. He drew back his head as though surprised, a gentle smirk playing across his lips. All sarcasm, he replied, "two timing whore? You're in luck, that's not the impression I got at all." Okay, if her squeal in the beginning had been the wet fart of reactions, his attempt at levity had to be the wet fart of humor. He knew that immediately. Fuck. Gear change. "For real though, don't worry about Sparrow. She's a big girl, she'll get over it and quiet down. Enjoy that new man. Or...old man..." Had it ever been established if the guy was a new one or a old flame? He couldn't remember. The details hadn't stuck with him. "...Whatever he is to you. As long as you're happy that's what matters, right?" He drew back and fixed her with a speculative look meant to drag her over to the bright side and start thinking about whatever cutesy, happy romance land she was in sans pirates.
