It wasn't long until a small group of Dall sheep entered his eye-line. Stepping down from the sheer rocks, the white and curly-horned sheep headed for the crystalline lake ahead of him. Gil's attention caught onto one that wasn't as large as the others. Young and with horns not quite as large or sharp as its family, he decided his target. His upper lip curled slightly as his ears fell back, tail twitching and eager as he waited for the right moment to strike.

As he took a step forward, almost emerged from his brushy hiding spot, a scent hit him. Wolf. Ears folded forward as his eyes moved to see a small white wolf was also in striking position. Gilgamesh almost stood up in confusion. This wolf was easily a foot shorter than him. How was he going to take down any of these sheep? Let's hope he's fast. He thought to himself, bemused at the fact this smaller wolf thought himself competent enough.

Turning his attention back toward his target sheep, his head lowered closer to the ground. If he and this stranger could work together to take down this one, he wouldn't mind sharing. Stepping quickly out from the brush, Gil's paws struck dirt and rock as he darted forward. Quickly his long legs moved toward the young sheep. Only a moment or two passed before the small herd noticed them. Pushing forward, his body leaned and turned as the group pulled to take off away from the lake and up toward the steep mountainside.

They had to catch them before they started their ascent. Fast on the tail of the younger sheep, Gil then noticed a larger, but older and reasonably slower sheep. With large, curling horns, he turned to cut the old sheep off. A snarl ripped through his throat as he lunged, paws outstretched as he leaped to latch onto the sheep's shoulder.
