Come down, come down sweet reverence
By the time they got around the lake territory the clouds had finally lifted and the rain had stopped. They'd worked their way south through a wooded area that also seemed to have been claimed by Valhalla's neighbors and headed toward the Fjord. They planned to head along the southern border of Boreas along the ocean front but Jynn found herself slowing as she peered into the woods and spied the opening of a ravine descending deeper into the wooded area. It was hard to make out at first but as she looked she could see walls of brown rock rising from the green grass and shrubs. The walls themselves were covered in brush and roots. The trees twisted skyward, still full of crowns of green leaves. Sunlight streamed in in several bold beams that created a sharp contrast between the light and dark, almost black, shadows of the wooded area. All she could see through the ravine were trees but she imagined it went a lot deeper.
