Damn his bulk, he was too slow out of the gate. The girl had enough time to twist herself around as he bore down on her and he didn’t have enough time to correct himself before he was suddenly sent toppling over the top of her. Touché, it was a very similar move to the one he’d used on her. She seemed to be a quick study, showing intelligence behind her pretty face and a natural manner of adapting to her foe. That would do her well in the long run.

He ducked his head as he went sailing so that he rolled onto his back without severely hurting his neck. Still, it was enough to make him wince and cough as the air whooshed from his lungs. The boy rolled to his paws in a daze, stumbling slightly before giving his large, horned head a shake. Then, he leapt forward once again, paws outstretched as he covered the short distance between them in an effort to wrap his paws around her neck to bring her down to the ground.
