Valentine awoke bleary-eyed and confused. He almost snapped at Lefty for waking him, but something about that felt off. The old king looked to his chest where she usually lay smushed and was surprised to not see her. He looked around in bafflement and his eyes immediately fell on Avalon which only served to add to his confusion. What had she said? She'd said something. Quickly he fell back on his capricious airs, if only to hide his confusion while he scrambled to make sense. "Old man," he scoffed. "I'd rather be old than dead..." His voice trailed off as it clicked. Valentine knew this place. This was Somnium. "Ah, fuck me," he growled. "I better not be dead."
