Before Avantika could worry too much, someone thankfully showed up. It was the woman she'd met digging at that fossil not that long ago. She called out to her, and something in her belly fluttered at the sound of her voice. Huh. It was the same thing she'd felt about Cosette before that girl had vanished with her new crew. She wasn't bitter. In normal times, she probably wouldn't have cared at all. But given her current insecurity crisis, she felt more hurt about it than she should've. That insecurity was precisely why she shouldn't let herself even get a harmless little crush on anyone else, but she couldn't seem to stop glancing up at those pretty purple eyes. "Yeah," she said with a smile that seemed to her like it must have been a little too big. She got into her fight stance, hoping that would make her less nervous. It didn't. She lunged forward and attempted to quickly shove Jynn's chest with her shoulder, hard, before jumping back.
