In a Dream

Dainty little paws danced with practiced movements over the tangled roots of the mangroves, the young lass thoroughly proud of herself for finally perfecting her strides over the uneven surface. No more would the little runt struggle behind her siblings because now she could get over those things like nobody's business! She was certain that now, with the basics finalized, she could add some flare to her gait. Chin was lifted as high into the fresh air as she could get it and still be able to see in front of her and her chest was puffed out to the maximum of its fluffy ability. Her tail was nearly vertical and bobbed only minutely as she held it tightly into place. With this confident stride, it was only a matter of time before she tripped even with her assumed perfection of her walk. And of course, the clumsy little beast did.
And when she did and scratched her chin all up and the little red scratches showed through the thin hairs of cream, Aegira became quite furious with herself. Seething, she crossed the river where Jupiter had showed her was the best place and into the seaside meadow that lay in the heart of the Ludicael territory.
Separate optics of vibrant purple and silver chrome focused securely upon the adult wolf that lay on her back in the grass some way away. The mask-marked youngster of two seasons narrowed her eyes and tilted her head at the individual, slowing her determined pace to a walk, relishing the feel of the soft, verdant greens underneath her paws instead of the harder roots that she usually stuck to. The lady was nothing like her mother pelt-wise, but over the sweet scent of the grass she could definitely smell Ludicael. For being as old as she was, she hadn't met too many Ludicael members, mostly because she and her siblings were too hyperactive to stay in one place long enough to be able to talk to one.
"Hey, you, what'cha doing?" she asked, speaking up in her approach only when the woman turned upon her side. "You know you're gonna go crazy if you keep lookin' at the sky like that." A deep frown was engraved on her face but there was a certain note of "duh" in her voice that was almost a little... condescending. The notion was so slight that it might have been perceived only by the listener, but was still most certainly present. "And if ya' keep talking to yourself." She thought she had heard the she-wolf say something as she'd headed over, but now that she pondered over how crazy the lady probably was, she was absolutely certain of it.
